iQOO Z7 becomes Amazon India’s bestselling smartphone on a launch day

Earlier this month, Vivo-backed iQOO launched its latest smartphone, named iQOO Z7 in the Indian market, which went on sale in India a couple of days back on Amazon.

Now, the company has revealed that the iQOO Z7 smartphone has become the highest-selling smartphone on a launch day in the Indian market on Amazon compared to all the mid-range smartphones launched in India this year.

In India, the iQOO Z7 5G smartphone has a starting price of ₹18,999 (~$230) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model, while the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version is priced at ₹19,999 (~$242). It is available in two color options — Pacific Night and Norway Blue.

The iQOO Z7, as well as the iQOO Z7x, have been launched in China and are now available for purchase in the Chinese market, starting today. The price for the iQOO Z7x starts at 1,299 yuan (~$189), while the standard Z7 starts at 1,599 yuan (~$233). It’s noteworthy that the Indian variant of the Z7 is different from the one launched in China.

Coming to the specifications, the iQOO Z7 features a 6.38-inch AMOLED display that offers a Full HD+ screen resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Unlike the Chinese model which packs Snapdragon 782G processor, the Indian model is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC, coupled with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

In the camera department, the phone has a dual-camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel primary camera sensor with OIS and a 2-megapixel portrait lens. On the front side, there’s a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

The smartphone runs the Android 13 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own FunTouch OS 13 custom user interface on top. It is powered by a 4,500mAh battery which comes with support for 44W fast charging.
